Walking Food
Walking food is food that you can eat while walking. It is food that doesn't require preparation, and is easy to hold in your hand.
Here are the Walking Food basics:
- Dried Fruit: Apples, Bananas, Papayas, Mangos, Apricots, Peaches, Raisins, Prunes, Cherries, Blueberries, Cranberries.
- Dried Meat: Beef jerky, Turkey jerky, Veggie Jerky, Salmon jerky, Meat sticks, Dry smoked salmon.
- Cheese: Drier types like Parmesan and Romano are more weight efficient, and don't become wet and messy when they get warm. Individually packaged cheese sticks travel well.
- Food Bars/Snack Bars/Granola Bars: A huge variety in the stores.
- Crackers: Crackers, chips, rice cakes.
- Bread: Flour tortillas, rolls, and bread are slightly more "wet" than crackers and chips, and won't keep fresh for as long.
- Candy: Hard candies, Chocolate.
- Nuts: (Without shells): Almonds, Peanuts, Sesames, Walnuts, Hemp seeds, Sunflower seeds, Filberts, Cashews, Mixes.
- GORP: Good Old Raisins and Peanuts, the original trail mix.
- Trail mix: A pre-mixed combination of dried fruit, nuts and candy.
